Meet our advertisers: Good Samaritan Hospital Family Birth Center

Welcome your new baby into the world at Good Samaritan’s five-star rated Family Birth Center (Health Grades, 2005). Good Samaritan is committed to providing the best possible birth experience in a family-centered environment. Their nine luxurious birthing suites are beautifully decorated, home-like rooms—complete with mountain views, jetted tubs, and the tunes of your favorite CD playing in the background.

Good Samaritan has been delivering babies in Puyallup for fifty years. Their state of the art Family Birth Center, where they deliver over 1,700 babies a year, was built in 2001.

Doctors and nurses work closely with you to create your birth plan, and can accommodate everything from birthing balls to mobile fetal monitoring units so important tests can be done without sacrificing your ability to move around during labor. Visiting is unlimited during labor and delivery to allow your family and close supporters to be present at this special time. Each room has a daybed for your partner and a refrigerator, television, and other amenities to make you feel right at home.

Good Samaritan is committed to helping you get breastfeeding your new baby off to a good start, as well. The Breastfeeding Support Clinic is staffed by registered nurses who are board certified lactation consultants. They visit new moms in the hospital soon after birth, as well as offering outpatient appointments to the community.

Good Samaritan’s Family Birth Center also houses a Level II nursery on site so that your baby can stay close to you even if special needs arise. Childbirth education is available through the Family Birth Center as well. Classes include “Boot Camp for New Dads” and “Kangaroo Kapers”—designed to prepare soon-to-be dads and older siblings for the arrival of the new baby.

Your baby’s birth is a once in a lifetime event. Let the exceptional care at Good Samaritan’s Family Birth Center welcome your precious newborn in safety and comfort.
