Meet our advertisers: Pioneer Organics |
Mmm, harvest season. Long afternoons bathed in golden sunlight, sweet organic fruit, fingerling potatoes fresh from the earth, sun ripened tomatoes picked by hand from your very own…box on the front porch? Pioneer Organics is just such a harvest dream come true.
The business started with Ronny Bell (owner) standing in the middle of a potato field,” says Stacey Kinkead of Pioneer Organics, “where the idea occurred to him that everyone should enjoy the taste of freshly harvested produce without having to make a trip to the countryside.” She continues, “The quality of the produce, nutritional content, and support of sustainable farming made it an easy success story from the back of a Subaru to a healthy, thriving (home delivery) business.”
Pioneer Organics delivers more than fruits and veggies, Stacey explains. “What is unique about our business is that we also support lots of artisan cheese makers, bread makers, dairy, fish, and meat farmers.” All this adds up to the healthiest, freshest food around.
And that’s not all. Great customer service is included with the package. You get only the produce you want and nothing you don’t. Customers choose how much, how often, and create a list of preferences stating exactly what fruits and vegetables they like—or don’t. “We give you the gift of time,” says Stacey. “If we can save you a trip to the store, let’s do it!”
Delivery is free with a minimum purchase within greater Seattle and the Eastside.
Pioneer Organics works with small family farms to ensure that the produce delivered to you is fresh, local, and part of a sustainable system of agriculture. Their environmental responsibility extends beyond the farm, however. From their alternative fuel delivery vehicles, to their “green” business offices, and their commitment to “recycle, compost, and reuse,” Pioneer Organics incorporates a respect for our planet into everything they do. But the most important difference may be in the way a healthy organic lifestyle makes you feel, says Stacey, “Once you get the taste for us you’ll never turn back!”
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the best of what the season has to offer—all the while doing something good for the earth. It’s healthy, convenient, and delicious. —Nissa Freed |
