As a parent you can feel pretty helpless when your child is sick. My wife Debbie and I experienced that first hand when our daughter Alex was being treated for E coli at the age of two. Alex, Debbie, and I received incredible care from her doctor, Sandra Griffith, and everyone at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. Our son Dan also needed the services of Children’s as an infant, on an outpatient basis. As a way to say thanks, back in 1985, we asked our musician friends to help us put together a holiday CD to raise money for Children’s Hospital. Today our kids are grown and well. Their treatment at Children’s Hospital is a distant memory. But every year when we hear Brenda White sing “Christmas in the Northwest” and the other great songs in the CD series, we are reminded of the compassionate treatment and care we and so many other families have and continue to receive on a daily basis. This year with the unprecedented generosity of Northwest artists and our wonderful business community we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Christmas in the Northwest. Today, your CD purchase helps raise needed funds for Children’s Hospitals throughout the Northwest, so any child can receive medical care regardless of their family’s ability to pay. Look for the Christmas in the Northwest CD wherever music is sold and help support Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. |
