"Have you done your homework?" No, it's not your mom on the phone. It's Cecilia Schukar, coach and owner of Crystal Angels Coaching, and it's your weekly call. She's not talking about school homework, but life homework in which you assess your values and align your purpose and passions with them. In Cecilia's coaching program, there are no regrets over the past, just forward thinking and action for the present and future. Cecilia is a certified life coach who was trained at the Academy of Coach Training in Bellevue last year. She has also studied with Denise Linn in her Soul Coaching program in California, and will soon become a licensed facilitator of Wayne Dosick's Healing program for Indigo Children. (Dosick and his wife Ellen wrote the book Spiritually Healing the Indigo Children,©2004.) Cecilia is especially interested in helping parents "discover their authenticity" and in "giving them practical tools so they can honor authenticity in their children." She feels coaching helps to "take the edge off parenting," enabling parents to see their own values clearly, and act in ways that validate their beliefs, in spite of what popular culture says or does. That's not an easy task for most of us, and engaging a soul coach for a few months might be just what one needs to feel strong and purposeful in parenting and life. Cecilia offers a free 30-minute phone consultation to determine if a prospective client understands her services and is a good match for coaching. Then, she and the client will set up an intake interview that will last from one to two hours. After the interview, Cecilia designs a coaching program based on the client's needs, followed by weekly phone consultations in which progress is assessed, and new goals created. In these weekly 30-minute phone calls, Cecilia will check that the client has done his or her "homework," which is usually journaling or creating action goals to accomplish in the ensuing week. Cecilia is also available to her clients via email during the week. Most clients sign up for three months of coaching services. Fees are assessed after setting up a program, and are usually charged to a major credit card. All coaching is done by phone and email. Cecilia and her husband Steve welcomed baby Michael into their lives ten months ago, and that has sparked an even greater interest in working with parents. She finds that most visitors to her website are parents going to the Crystal and Indigo Children pages to learn more about these "highly aware, spirited, sensitive, creative souls in our midst." She is eager to help parents learn ways to honor their children's innate spirituality and reason for being here. Coaching is not for everyone, says Cecilia, and it doesn't take the place of therapy for those who suffer from depression or other mental health issues. Cecilia's passion is to "help highly-aware, healthy parents and their children deepen their spiritual approach to life." |
