Pacific Northwest Ballet Presents: Nutcracker, with choreography by Kent Stowell, set design by Maurice Sendak, and photography by Angela Sterling (©2005, Sasquatch Books), is a beautifully produced storybook designed to accompany the annual performance, though it is also an excellent stand-alone version of the story. This Nutcracker companion tells the story of the ballet, giving young and old audiences the chance to see the story come to life on the printed page, with vivid and engaging photographs from one of the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s own performances.
