Have you opened your CHILD Profile mailing yet?

CHILD Profile is Washington State’s award-winning health promotion and immunization registry system. Parents of children birth through age six receive free mailings appropriate to their child’s age. CHILD Profile health promotion materials are endorsed by the Washington Chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians and provide parents with health, nutrition, safety, and development information specific to their child’s age. The immunization registry component gives participating health care providers access to a shared registry of immunization information to facilitate the care of each child.

Currently, approximately 86 percent of parents of young children in Washington are sent the mailings, so watch your mailbox! If you are not receiving the mailings but live in Washington State and have a child under six years old, call Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies at 1-800-322-2588 to sign up.

CHILD Profile materials are reviewed every year by both parents and professionals to help ensure that they are accurate and useful. Three or four materials are sent out every quarter and parents are asked to review them and comment as they have time. (We know that sometimes being a parent doesn’t allow for much else!)

We would like parents to share with us any issues important to them at a particular age that CHILD profile may not be addressing. We’d also like to hear about anything that is unclear or disagrees with what a doctor or nurse has said. We appreciate any and all input.
