History comes to life with Sisters in Time |
Spend a delightful hour with Karen Haas and her acclaimed interpretation of four very different women living in our region in the summer of 1885. Karen brings to life this time of change in the Puget Sound Area as more people of diverse ethnic groups settled the land. Through her performance she tells tales of four different women, sings their songs, and reminds her audience how cultures that have met in Washington’s past have a strong influence on our modern sense of place. “Their humanities,” says Karen, “shed light on our own times.”
With performances ranging from “Katharine,” a woman of French-Canadian and Native American descent, to “Emily Dean,” an English woman who brings her own set of prejudices to the Puget Sound, Karen brings our region’s history to life.
Sisters in Time will be performed at The Slavonian American Benevolent Society Hall, 2306 North 30th Street in Old Town Tacoma on April 3 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for students.
